Trying to tune Ira's violin

I don't like tuning instruments after the strings have been changed. I'm always afraid of braking the strings. And it's old so I don't want to brake it. I have been looking around for someone to fix it and with the help of my nieces husband I may have found someone in Ottawa. For now he says to make sure I don't get them to refinish it because that will distort it's sound. I also sent an email to Ira's granddaughter to try and get a little more history on the violin as well. So I have been busy. I'd like to get it tuned it seems to have a nice sound. Maybe tomorrow when I get home from work I'll try again in the living room this time with out any distractions.
